Fee Earner with previous experience in conveyancing required to join our busy and well-respected legal conveyancing company in Chelmsford. In your role as fee earner, you will be confident in managing your work load and your conveyancing assistants which sit at different levels of experience. The successful candidate for this fee earner role will be confident in time management, organisation and prioritising in relation to all files and all conveyancing assistants assigned to them.
The Role
Regular communication with developers/negotiators to identify targeted exchanges
Hive regular updates to developers/negotiators for progressing of plots
Responding to client instructions and sending all initial paperwork
Ensuring Help to Buy requirements are met if required
Carry out OS2 and Bankruptcy searches and ensuring these remain in date
Issuing contracts and dealing with any related sale or part exchange enquiries
Setting up a file in readiness for completion
Dealing with all financial aspects of a transaction; including checking and signing off proof of funds.
Carrying out and checking pre-contract searches
Receiving and checking mortgage instructions and special conditions
Preparing transfer and mortgage deeds;
Site visits and attending launches and shows where required
Deal with associated transactions e.g. px files, related sale files and mortgages.
Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
The Person
Qualified fee earner with minimum 1 year’s conveyancing experience
Strong conveyancing experience of residential and new builds
Excellent communication skills
Confident in ability to meet deadlines
